Accessibility

Our commitment to making DailyJob.pk usable with screen readers, keyboards and magnification, what is already built in, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

A career marketplace that some people cannot use is not much of a marketplace. DailyJob.pk is built to be usable by people who rely on screen readers, keyboards, magnification, captions or slower connections, and we keep working at it. This statement describes what we have done, what we know is still missing, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA across the website and the mobile app. Accessibility is considered whenever we design a new feature in the Career Feed, Resume Lab or the Hiring Desk, and we test with assistive technology before major releases.

What is built in

  • Every page can be navigated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a "skip to content" link.
  • Headings, landmarks and form labels are structured so that screen readers announce them correctly.
  • Images that carry meaning, including workplace logos, have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Colour contrast meets AA ratios in both light and dark themes, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed: "Featured" and "Verified" are words, not just badges.
  • Text can be enlarged to 200 percent without losing content or function, and the layout works on small phone screens.
  • Forms explain errors in plain language next to the field, and one-time codes can be received by email as well as SMS.
  • Resume Lab exports are tagged PDFs with a reading order that follows the visual layout.
  • Career Journal videos, where present, carry captions.

Known gaps

We would rather tell you than let you discover them. Some older Career Journal articles contain images of text without full alternatives; we are working through the archive. Resumes uploaded by candidates as image-only PDFs cannot be read by screen readers on the Hiring Desk, so we encourage text-based uploads. A small number of third-party embeds, such as maps, do not meet our standard and are marked as such.

Alternative formats and help

If you cannot complete an application, a vacancy or a payment because of an accessibility barrier, email support@dailyjob.pk with "Accessibility" in the subject or use the Contact page. We will help you finish the task by another route, for example by taking your application over the phone, and we will log the barrier for fixing.

Tell us

Feedback from people who use assistive technology every day is worth more than any audit. Tell us what device, browser or screen reader you use, what you were trying to do and what happened. We respond within five working days and report progress on fixes.
